Skills Manitoba Trades Activity Book
Our friends at Skills Manitoba needed an updated activity book to teach students in grades 5 to 7 about all the different skilled trades and technologies that are available to them.
We were really excited to be involved since it was a great opportunity to flex our creative muscles.
We wanted to create a unique experience for the students and decided to illustrate various workplace environments and the people that would work there. We drew custom characters to represent each of the four distinct trade sectors as well as a section for technology to fill out the activity book.
Each section of the booklet finishes with an activity following the section theme. We then created an answer key at the back for students to check their work. Once the design and layout were completed we printed a bunch of booklets for the Skills folks to handout at the different schools they visit across Manitoba.
We decided to print the booklet on a thick, uncoated sheet so the students would have an easy time completing the activities.
